about
Born in a suburb of Northern Israel in 1983, Hen Yanni left home at the age of seventeen when she was offered the chance to build a modeling career in Paris. Hen's modeling took her to Paris, London, and New York, where she was photographed by the likes of Mario Testino, David Sims, and Craig McDean for major campaigns, like Dolce and Gabbana, Kenneth Cole, and Paul & Joe, as well as magazines like French Vogue, Italian Vogue, ID, The Face, and V Magazine.
After several successful years modeling, Hen decided to return home to her native Israel to study acting at the Theater Arts Studio of Yoram Levinstein, considered one of the country's best. While still in the program, Hen was already acting in independent films and then appeared in several other films and television series before exploding onto the big screen in the dual lead role of the feature film Melting Away, where she portrayed an eighteen-year-old boy who transforms himself into a woman and takes a painful journey to return back to her parents. Hen's work in Melting Away earned her a breakthrough performance award at the LGBT Tel Aviv International Film Festival, as well as a best actress Israeli Academy Award nomination.
